Our Story

Every object has a story waiting
to be told.

Hello! We are Tom and Laura and we live in Maine with our two children, two dogs, and a backyard full of chickens. Laura was born and raised in Maine, moved away, met Tom, and brought him back. He was one of her first vintage finds.

Our love of all things vintage starts with Grandma Mary (Tom's Mom).

Mary was born in New York City, raised in the Bronx, and never met an estate sale she didn't love. She hosted them for others, antiqued constantly, and could guess what something was worth before the Antiques Roadshow appraiser did.

She also loved to share found treasures. There was always a little something she picked up for us. She taught us to look closer, to ask "what's the story?", and to love the hunt, and some of our very first shows were selling together with her.

Tom has been collecting his whole life, inspired by his Mom. Laura got started a bit later after meeting Tom and lots of consignment and estate sale shopping with Mary.

We are continuing the treasure hunting and opening up our personal collections with A Storied Find, a pop-up and online vintage shop here in Maine. You'll find mid-century jewelry, vintage toys, records, comics, curios, and a few of Mary's own finds, each with a story worth telling.

The Love of the Hunt

Rescuing character from the attics, basements, and forgotten corners.

Most of what we carry comes from the 1950s through 2000, with some items much older: antique curios, ephemera, mid-century costume jewelry, vintage toys, books, comics, records, and household finds built to survive. We do not hold onto dusty clutter; every object here earned its place because somebody loved it enough to keep it intact.

We believe every object has a history. Who bought it? Who kept it? Why did it survive when so many things didn't? We like to imagine what the backstory is to every piece we find.
